Radical Giveaway Contest: The Jesus Chainsaw Massacre

The Jesus Chainsaw Massacre will be playing a show at the Phoenix Cafe on Friday, December 10th. I’ve never been to the Phoenix Cafe, but it’s in Hazel Park, so I’m guessing there’s NASCAR paraphernalia all over the walls. The show’s flier features a nipple on it, so expect the night’s show to incorporate nipples somehow. That alone might be worth a trip. If you and a friend want to see the show for free, just be the first one there to say that your name is Nathan Burgundy.

Do you see what I’ve done? I’ve completely revolutionized amateur Detroit music blog giveaway contests. You don’t have to worry that I’ll just secretly give the prize to someone I know, because winner selection is completely out of my hands and transparent. The added bonus is that my revolutionary contest idea will encourage people to show up earlier, thereby increasing the audience size for the opening band. While I don’t know anything about Dubya Tee Eff, I’m sure it would hurt their feelings if they played to a very empty room.

  1. My name is Nathan Burgundy. And I'm Sparticus.

  2. Great blog! I've included it on a site I've created, which is a compilation of some of the best blogs in the city.

  3. Um.. Sir Bess O'Blogs just copied and pasted this post under his own page. Fer reals. A better description for that "site" he's created is "a compilation of some text that I ripped off other blogs and gave no credit to."

  4. When he reposted what I wrote, he included the url to the original post. Even if he didn't, it probably wouldn't bother me.
